Why do some people buy the IS250 for modification instead of IS350 or IS-F?

I like the idea of this thread possibly helping somebody out on a purchasing decision between a 250 and 350 but honestly I was only asking to close this thread earlier just in case any IS250 owners get offended or something. After all the decision does come down to YOU at the end of the day.
Anywho I rather enjoy this thread to be honest. Gives me some real insight on to some peoples point of view on is250 vs is350. Like the fact that some people are so hateful and against automatics that they would rather get the slower weaker car out of the two just because the is350 doesn't have a manual. Although I do agree that Lexus should have ATLEAST made it an option but whatever I guess.. After all Lexus has always been more of an image than performance brand IMO. At least back then anyway.
