Default Please help, stock hid one side much brighter than other

Hi guys, I recently observed that the passenger headlight is MUCH less brighter than the driver side. I thought it was the bulb but even after replacing it, it remains the same. I've done research and found out that usually one side is a little dimmer to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. However, mine is significantly dimmer...

Thanks

It might be the ballast, or something blocking the lense or projector inside. Try switching the bulbs around and see if it is dim on one side.

Thanks for your reply. It's definitely not the bulb because I got a new set of bulbs and the problem still persists. How do I know if there is something blocking the lense?

Might have to take out the headlight or if you can take off the windshield washer bucket tube 10mm bolt and the tube should pop out with a little pull and take the cover off and bulb out and look inside. Was it always like that? One side dim?

Try switching the right and left side. I know you said you replaced the bulbs but in the super rare case the new one was bad and was put in the same place as the questioned bulb.

Go closer to the wall. I know it's normal for it to be a little different but michael22 is really dim on one side.

I got the chance to try swapping the bulbs around. The problem is still there

I tried removing the bulbs from the lens and leaving them outside the headlight with the connector attached. When turned on outside the housing, it seems they are both the same brightness. But when i put it back into the housing, it becomes dimmer than the driver side again?

Is there any yellowing, hazing, or condensation on the headlight housing?

The projector bowl itself could be burned, could happen from junk bulbs letting out too much UV or improper placement of bulbs in the socket. I had something similar happen on my old Camry from junky aftermarket bulbs. Would definitely cause reduced output. This is just a guess though, you'd have to open them up to find out. I'm assuming you have factory HIDs so you can't exactly switch the ballasts over easily, but I doubt that's the problem anyways.
