Default Michelin PSS vs A/S (Which is better)

Looking to buy one of these tires. Daily driver looking for comfort and low road noise. Live in Alabama so not worried about snow or harsh winter. Tread warranty is 15k higher on the A/S tires but leaning toward the Super Sports. Looking for anyone with input on which tire I should go with.

I'd go with the Super Sports, the Primacy MXM4's are nice and comfy but not as quiet as I like them to be on the highway.

There was only 2 reasons why I did not get the PSS and it was that they didn't have them in stock and was back-ordered when I needed tires and I drive close to 50+ miles a day on the highway and needed the longer treadwear rating.

The AS3 are smoother than PSS and last a little longer.

The PSS however, are rumored to perfrom better in rain than AS3. They also have more grip in the dry.

Both really good tires. I've had both on my cars. I live in SD, zero snow, but the PSS were backed up when I needed them so I went with AS3.

No complaints

They're entirely two different types of tires meant for different drivers and driving styles.

Personally I'm an aggressive driver who demands Max Performance Summer Tires. Sounds like your not. I'd therefore recommend a less performance orientated tire for you, one more aimed at comfort.

The Michelin AS3 should fit the bill.

Or maybe this would be more suitable to your driving style:

But probably don't come in your size so:

Sounds like I should go with the AS3 tires.

I've had them on my 250 AWD since new.

I have 140k miles now; I've gone through 3 sets, and a 4th set will be coming up in about 10k more miles.

They are great in all weather conditions, as I've lived in the snow and ice in the mountains of Oregon, the heat of Arizona, and the blistering cold of Nebraska in the last 5 years.

I have never gotten stuck.

Was wondering if there are any quieter tires available but I just keep replacing them with the same thing. lol

I have had both. First the PSS and now the AS3. I prefer the AS3. They should last longer and offer more than enough performance for a daily driver. Plus, they are significantly cheaper.

I have had both, but not on my IS. The PSS came stock on my 2003 Chrysler 300M Special. They were great tires, but we lived in VA at the time and with winter on the way had to switch to an All Season tire. We had the AS on for a while. I found them to be noisy, but good overall for spirited driving. When we moved to SoCal I put the PSS back on and they were great for here.
