Starting concern
Good morning,
I'm looking for a little assistance as I had an odd encounter this morning. I was away for 2 weeks and my IS was left in my driveway. During my time away the temperatures plummeted to -29C yet returned to normalcy upon my return.
When I started my IS, this is where things got unusual, temperature -4C. I have 6MT IS250. I pressed the push start and allowed the fuel pump to prime. When the whirling noise ended I fully depressed the push button to start the car. The started kept going and going for about 20 seconds, all of the gauges on the displayed turning on normally. Then the IS started, it was the roughest start I've experienced in the 4 years I've owned the car. The car was running for about 10 seconds then it abruptly stalled.
I waited about another minute then started it again. This time it started much more rapidly, yet the RPM display was at 2500 and stayed there for about 90 seconds, then went to its usual 1200 RPM's.
After that the drive was normal. My RX which was right beside my IS started without issue.
My vehicle is a 2009 IS250 6MT with 90000kms on it and I use Shell V-Power gas only.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

This happened to me once with my is350. It was a fairly cold day and I too had a rough start followed by the car dying shortly after. This was also followed by a normal start and the car has been fine since. I was alarmed at first and drove carefully trying to discover any symptoms of a problem for the next few days. If it has only happened this once I wouldn't stress over it too much.
