So now that I'm temporarily done with "performance mods " now that I have my midpipe and intake. Until the tune progresses further I've decided to focus all my attention on getting wheels finally for my ride. So after looking through some designs and different styles I think I've finally decided on Varretoen ES2's. (I may change my mind however)
Now my question to you guys is what size do you think they should be? I originally wanted to stick to 18's but recently decided on going 19. However I'm not so sure how 19's would look with this style of wheel? What do you guys think? I'm completely fine with sticking to 18 by the way.

Also just an fyi the es2's with an offset of +22 or higher may not clear the is350's brakes without a spacer. I was looking at the same wheels a while back but never found a definite answer.

Thanks for your input. What do you mean by spacer? Is it hard or expensive to do? I'm new to buying wheels so forgive my noobish knowledge lol.

spacers like ichiba or eibach. they basically go on your studs to push out your wheels: http://eibach.com/america/en/perform.../wheel-spacers
many people use them as a way to make their setup more aggressive but I've heard bad things about spacers. better to just buy the correct specs you want in the first place

They will if you run the more aggressive +12 offset as for the +22 offset or high you will probably need spacers for the front unless you can find someone that has successfully run +22 off or +35 offset es2's
As far as spacers the general rule of thumb is anything more than 5mm you need either extended studs or spacers with built in studs. With spacers with built in studs you need atleast 20mm spacers otherwise your stock studs will protrude out and not let the wheel sit flush.
My personal experience with spacers is I have to run a 12mm spacer on my front wheels to clear my brakes. I put extended studs on the front and the 12mm spacers. I've had them for almost 40k miles and never had a problem. Ive run them on my previous car as well and never had a problem. If you install them right you shouldn't have any problem.

Unfortunately no. Will still have the same issue of the spokes possibly hitting the calipers. Like i said before its possible that the 9.5 +22 offset will clear the brakes but I haven't seen proof that it does. This is not a definite answer of no just from what I have seen on the forums was that the 19x9.5 +22 would not clear the brakes.
Just got off a call with Varrstoen. I will be getting the 19x8.5 for the front and 19x9.5 rear. Both offset to +35. According to them the car should be fine as long as I use a 5mm spacer for the fronts. And that the rear should be fine. He also commented saying that if I had to use any spacer bigger than 5mm he would not recommend me those wheels... Anyway.
Now with that out of the way I guess I will be going with the 19's since I now know they will fit and most of you guys feel that they look more at home than 18" wheels. Now I'm just trying to figure out if I want machined silver or matte black or a custom color all together lol. Decisions decisions..
9.5 +12 i think is way too agressive unless you have camber, fender roll, bumper tab, stretched tires
I'm not trying to go aggressive or stanced or anything like that. Just trying to improve the look of my car by swapping out the wheels for something better. In the future I'll probably go with that hella flush look but for now I just need to get my baby out of her old shoes. Hence why I am buying replicas
