I think my car is cursed; just a few weeks after an engine overhaul I got into an accident. The front bumper's right side is pretty much torn off, but the damage seems superficial; very minimal damage is seen in the parts under the bumper.

So, I currently need a new front bumper, and I figured I'd get this chance to improve the car's looks. I've always wanted a genuine F-Sport grille (the finish on eBay/fake ones looks really displeasing), but from what I've been reading on CL, the 06-08 years don't offer an official one from Lexus.

This brings me to my question: is it possible to install a more recent bumper, say, from an 09-10 model year IS, and put it on an 06-08 model year IS? Would adding a new grille insert and surround work and fit with an older IS hood and headlights?

How hard was it? Was there a lot of cutting and molding involved?
