Talking In search of an IS 250 AWD to buy

I'd like to keep it under $13k, '08 or newer, with not much over 100k on the odometer. I'm finding a fair amount to choose from. Wouldn't mind another GS350 or IS350 with AWD, but sticking with my price and year.

Are there common troubles with the IS250 AWD I can look for? I generally do my own maintenance and repairs, enjoy working on cars, wouldn't shy from something that needs some mechanical repairs. There is one I'm looking at in Chicago that I know has had some undiagnosed dash lights in the past.

I would look for a 350 because of no problems with carbon build up, but it's harder to find AWD. I think some of the common problems are the CV shafts, wheel bearings and rusted out exhaust systems. I would check Auto Trader and Craigslist for some prices.

I've been searching for a 350, don't really trust the 250, but found one very cheap I'll probably buy tonight. The carbon problem worries me, this one has been well maintained and mostly highway 145k, taking my chances. It is for my son to drive after he totaled my GS350awd.

I'm wondering if regular Seafoam into the intake will reduce the carbon buildup...? Finding mixed reviews of that theory online.

I used seafoam in the gas in some of my older cars but i like Red Line SI1 fuel treatment and it seems to work good. I use a bottle every 5K.
