Thumbs down Vibration at 80-85km/h...

My 2009 IS250 RWD is perfectly smooth until I hit 80km/h. From 80 to 85km/h it vibrates, then is back perfectly smooth at 85km/h +. Anyone have any idea what this may be... Thanks

Possibly, usually alloys will crack before they bend. I also just had 4 brand new tires inst & bal last week and its still doing it.

Have you considered the issue being caused from a wheel bearing? Some of the symptoms of a bearing going bad are the same as you describe.

Where are the vibrations coming from? Steering? Wheels?

Are your suspensions stock or modified?

No, the rim certainly can bend without cracking. Have you asked the tire dealer that mounted your new tires to help diagnose? Ask them to check the runout of each wheel.

If they balanced the wheels then they would notice if they were bent. Go back to them and tell them to re balance your wheels and not let a rookie do it, and make sure to let them know to see if the rims are bent.

The vibrations are coming from the front wheels to the pedals to the steering wheel... for that 5km/h period.
