I called my local dealer lexus in Cerritos but was told they currently do not have any replacement airbags for a 2011 IS250 and to call back to schedule an appointment in 2-3 weeks. Will make not of the dash being removed or not once I get the car back.

Not really Norcal, but I'm about an hour from Livermore (in Modesto/Central Valley), just got my car done today and could have had it done last Friday.

Got mine done today at Newport Lexus (SOCAL)! I was given a loaner car and will be picking up my car tomorrow morning.

Got mine done today in Raleigh, NC. The service advisor stated they did have to remove the top half of the dash although I couldn't find any evidence of it afterwards.

Thought so, when I got my car back there were three distinct finger prints on my dash on the passenger side near the windshield.

Dropped mine off today. Said it will take a couple of days to complete since they have so many. Was told that when they have a vehicle in for recall they will fill up your tank of gas for free. Nice.

Called them and got an appt for next week. Thanks for the info Brian7. So glad Pleasanton Lexus came through! Although it's quite a drive, compared to the closest (will remain unnamed) dealership to me who put me in some waiting list and won't hear back til who knows when, the long distance is a non-factor to having this recall taken care of.

I got the recall done. My adviser said that the dash shouldn't need to come off, but they take the head unit out, not sure if that helps with recall, or the dash was taken out. I left the car at 9AM and got a call it's ready at 1:30PM.

I didn't get a refill -- I was little disappointed.

For reference, my car is a 2011 IS50 AWD, and I live in Austin, Texas.
I noticed you said you lived in Austin, TX. I also live here and got the recall letter sent to my home in Florida. Do you just call them and ask them set up an appt? Or do you have to bring your letter in and all that?

Were they careful with your dashboard?

What part of the dash did they break? So they did remove the dash?

I called my dealer yesterday for this same recall and made a first available appointment couple weeks from today. My service adviser even reminded me to bring my car with empty tank as they'll fill it up when done so we'll see
