2nd Gen Looks Better Than 3rd Gen??

The 2is is a more classic and elegant design both interior and exterior that has aged very well. The 3is exterior is ugly and the interior is tacky, especially the folds on that hideous glove box.
The 3is will not age well, that I assure you. 2-3 years from now ppl will hate it more that they do now.
I will keep my 2012 IS 350 obsidian black until the next redesign for sure, but ever since Lexus has been aiming for a 'younger, hipper' customer their designs have gone down the drain. I much prefer the new C class look. The exterior is gorgeous and the interior is awesome.

Back to topic—when I told my son what I bought, he was silent for a bit and then said "is that before they ruined the design?" I had been thinking about the is200, but couldn't get over the "running shoe" looks.

You really prefer the trans in the 2IS??? The trans is the ONE thing I hate on my IS. I wish i had REAL paddle shifting capability like the new ones and i would prefer the 8 speed for cruising on the hwy as well. Other than that, I agree that the lines of the body are much more elegant in our cars but I am planning on checking out the 2017 IS350 Fsport.

I think the 3IS has the futuristic look and I like the taillights. I just don't like how the 2014-2016 had the small headlights with the curves under them. It feel like it makes the gap look large between the headlights and the separate DRLs. When I saw the 2017 headlights that are straightened, I thought those looks a lot better.

Id have to disagree haha, I like the steering wheel because its thicker than the 2is. I also don't mind that metal finish they have. Looks a bit more futuristic and matches the concept of the car.

I just don't like that it's smaller looking. Also the Lexus logo isn't as nice either.. But I'm totally okay with that since it flows with the rest of the car.

100% hands down I prefer the 2nd gen. I'm not sure why auto makers do such a thing where they really F up what was a really beautiful design. I think the 2IS 350 is just a beautiful display of metal. The new stuff with that PAC MAN MOUTH grille and the Nike Swoosh on the body is just lame. NO THANKS>
In the year 2021 (man it is weird to type that) I will buy a 2013 IS350 with 70-90K miles on it to upgrade from the 2008 IS350 I have now.
