Default 2009 Lexus IS250 navi screen problem

so i bought a used 2009 lexus is250 from a dealer maybe 4 months ago. the screen for the navigation went crazy. by crazy i mean, it would turn off randomly, restart maybe 3 times and then the screen would freeze and then start to turn white. after turning white for about 5 minuets, it would just turn off completely. this happend maybe a span of 3 weeks until it just didnt want to turn on at all. the radio still works but none of my climate control buttons work.

it still turns on randomly, maybe once a week now. sometimes when it does start working again, it would show me an enegry consumption screen and then would turn off again. i was curious if anyone else had this problem and know the solution without having to go to the dealer. i mean worse comes to worse, im gong to have to go there anyways but just seeing if anyone else knows what is going on here.

Can you use the buttons on the side like the actual button? If you can, then it sounds like your screen is out

the buttons on the side ( climate, display, menu, ect..) only work when my screen is on. so right now, my screen is off. the side buttons arent working. so if its the screen, do you have a DIY to replace it?

Is your issue similar to this video? From your description, it sounds similar to what's happening to this guy's nav.

^Yeah, that guy is me in my car; those are the very same symptoms. I ended up having to source a new NAV unit from an '08 model. From the start, I've thought it was power source-related, and others have confirmed that it does have to do with the onboard power source board causing these issues.

Please let us know if this replacement board fixes your issue!

So is this a NEW board with NEW components or a used one pulled from a good NAV unit?

^No, you would need a custom harness.

You have to schematic the board to find out the failed component. Wish you best luck!
