Hey CL, this thread is meant to be a preview of a retrofit project I'm going to be attempting in the next few weeks or months. I will be swapping these modded OEM HID projectors into OEM Halogen non-HID headlights. Retrofitting any D2S HID projectors would require cutting a giant hole in the back of my headlight and that is not really an option for me so this is going to be the only way to go for me to get better lighting.
I modded the projectors for more color (blueish purple cutoff) by spacing the projector bowl by using two washers and a thin spacer washer, moved the entire bowl assembly upwards, used three paper spacers behind the clear STI-R clear lenses, and used D2S bulbs. There is a similar thread I found modding the stock halogen projectors. I didn't want to mod my stock halogen projectors because I feel they are probably inferior projectors and definitely wouldn't allow the use of D2S bulbs.
Ahhh, all that color makes me miss my MDX retrofit on my old car.. Just not ready to open up these headlights yet.
Definitely a nice upgrade though, the clear lenses should help with light output too considering our stock HIDs aren't all that great due to the side bulb install. (I'm assuming you're just using D2S modded stock HID projectors from what you said at the top?)

Yes but technically they are D4S modded stock HID projectors lol I actually cut a small notch in the D2S bulb to fit it in. Works great and IMO D2S bulbs are much better than the stock D4S
Im new to Retrofitting, so by adding spacers you got a more defined cutoff and added the Purple-blue color? Or do you need to have the STI-r tense to get this look. Looking into doing something to spice up my cars light output.
