Default Help Car won't start

So i was getting in my car to start it and I noticed it seemed a little off on how it started like it was getting harder for the car to start. I get home and while backing in the steering wheel got really stiff and the breaks were stiff as well. I finally got it parked and cut the car off, tried to start it again and i got a rapid clicking sound with all of the dash lights light up and everything was working.

Please help this is my only vehicle at the moment to get around.

I am thinking it is either the starter or alternator. If it is the starter what is the difficulty of replacing on a 2007 lexus is250

If you get it to start again, bring it to autozone. They can test battery and alt.

If the steering got stiff, it is because the power-assisted steering went out due to lack of power being produced from the alternator.

Another vote for alternator. If the battery was weak prior to the alternator failure, the resulting deep discharge may cause it to fail too.

So I went out and bought the alternator yesterday and installed it now everything is as it should. Had some trying times with getting the bolts to break loose and finally getting the alternator out but after i removed the pulley closest to the alternator smooth sailing she went

First, I stopped using my ES330, 2004 too long and battery got so weak, I should have had it tested before starting. Now my knowledge grows. Never try starting engine with a weak battery. This can destroy your alternator. Diodes and regulator ruined. I have gained good knowledge from this experience and will not repeat again.

I'm installing a new alternator myself. Youtube's , "HOW TO", is a big help. Researching has been a great teacher too. If you haven't replaced your alternator yet, that would be my suggestion. A new alternator is my 1st option. There are remanufactored, rebuilt, reconditioned and there is NEW alternators. I don't want to replace this again,, like some readings of others that had that unfortunate experience. I choose a brand I think will stand behind what they claim. These are brands that bought the rights to copy and add their own name on the product. I picked one with two years warranty.

PS, I once discovered on YOUTUBE, how I might fix my dead airconditioner. The suggestion was locate the relay, remove it, throw it on the pavement hard, three times, reinstall it then start the engine and test the air-condition. It has worked just fine ever since. The relay switch was stuck.

Best of luck to your fix-it-yourself.
