My problem is power steering lock, immobiliser and smart key ecu. The culprit is power steering lock which made my smart key ecu melted a few parts

It seems as the yrs pass by the issue still lingers on these vehicles. It would be great if CL members could post the yr model they have to track which ones are most affected, specific group or all across yrs.

Default IS 300 Model2008 - not starting 1st time

Dear Lexus Club members,

I owned Lexus IS300 since 2015, it's been 6 years now I am using this car without any troubles. Recently I am experiencing startup issues.
Whenever I start my car in the morning, it won't start by 1st push button, always starts on the second.
I went to the garage and the mechanic told me it has several issues and I fixed it as well.

- Changed oil + oil filter (oil = Liqui Molly)
- Ignition motor (located under the engine)
- Spark plugs
- Cleaned Injectors
- Cleaned Throttle body
- Valve cover gaskit ( was leaked)
- Fuel Filter + Fuel pump
- MAF sensor changed
- radiator cap
- vacuum pump

But unfortunately, after doing all this work, Next morning I faced the same issue. My car did not start from the 1st push button and started on the 2nd.

Anyone has faced this similar issue ? Any information regarding this would be appreciated and helpful.

Thanks all.

YES!! finally the issue is fixed.
I switched the patrol/gas from 95 to 98 (Super).

Now it's starting perfectly fine.

I have a 2011 Lexus is350c. Every now and then I push the break in and hit the start button and it won’t start. The gauges light up, the steering wheel extends, then it goes back like I cut the car off. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times before it starts. Usually the car has set for a while. The battery is a year old and I keep a trickle charger on it. Any ideals.

Any messages on the dashboard? How old is the battery in the remote?

Since this has happened to mine in the last couple of days I put a new battery under the hood a new battery in the remote and replaced a stoplight switch and a cigarette lighter fuse that's it. It throws a code for B2988 key coalition. I hook it up to my scanner that's bi-directional and even though I can't get it to accessory or ignition still pulls codes and tests I've tested the lights on the push button lights work so I don't know if it would be the push button or not they're not lighten up I've tried messing with the neutral safety switch tried starting it in park neutral nothing affects it

This same condition happened to my 13 GS350 last month when I tried to start it a few times. Then it would start again for unknown reasons. Battery was new and tested fine. Changed Key fob battery, had charging system checked and was ok. Ended up being the Starter was going out. Had starter replace under Ext service contract I have. No problems starting since starter replaced. At 51K miles.

Same issue happened today. Nothing on the gauges other than showing the door open. Start button does nothing. Pressing the brake does nothing. Any suggestions?
