If I remember correctly mine went out around the 8yr mark. Replaced with a lifetime replacement warrantied AutoZone reman unit. So if it happens again, back to AutoZone for a free replacement.

06 IS350, 165k, original alternator as far as I know. P/O took to Sewell Lexus for every tiny thing. Not shown as ever replaced, still works great.

My '06 IS350 failed last year at around 80,000 miles. No warning. Took out the battery as well. Had it towed to the dealer for new alt. and battery. Never, ever have I had an alternator fail without ample warning and I've owned many, many cars over the past 56 years. Ahhh, but it's a Lexus, right? So all is just fine.

Mine slowly failed at 145k. Replaced at the dealer. They picked up the car with a flatbed.
