Any updates on IS airbag recall???
#16
Spoke to dealer today in Cali. No airbag replacements expected for about a year (and this is Zone A). They cannot sell the used vehicles that are awaiting the recall either. So that means, no value even if you want to trade it in. Dealer referred me to corporate in the discussion of alternate transportation. Has anyone gone down this path yet?

A thread has already been started on this:

This is a serious issue and we should only have ONE thread to follow it!

Sorry on that, I saw the last reply there was 6 weeks ago and this appeared to be a more current thread. I agree this is an extremely important issue that should be managed on one thread.

And, if we follow that logic, that would mean that maybe NHTSA would force all vehicles with open recalls currently on the road to be garaged. Don't see that happening!

Dealers cannot sell vehicles with recalls outstanding, however these recalls are not released yet and as such are technically not outstanding. The concern is only present in older airbags. They are still manufacturing some cars with affected airbags.
