Default Big gas mile per gallon.

Hi guy, just let you guys know a different in the aftermarket air filter vs OEM air filter, well long story short, two years ago my friend gave me his new K&N dry air filter for free because he goes with F-sport air intake, ok i took the K&N air filter and drive it for two years, the whole time i got avearge 22.6 MPG and feel my car not as strong like it used to when i bought them well i though my IS350 has 306hp thay why i got 22.6 mpg never go up to 23mpg, and last weekend i swap out with the oem air filter and WOW i feel the different the car respond better and get what? I got 28.7 mpg when drive to Michigan over the weekend my car feel faster now too my car now has 64k miles on and get 28.7 mpg love it.

Is this the new Black Dryflow® Air Filter element? This media is brand new and I have not heard much about it. I would think the K&N must have been dirty when you installed it to produce such a big difference in numbers.

I dont think it is a new design air filter from K&N, because i have it like three years ago, but got installed two years ago, and it is brand new not used, but it is thinner than OEM one, when i removed it, it is not super dirty though. Bu i am happy with 27.6 to 28.6 on highway now versus to 22.3 mpg

I was getting ~30mpg highway with my is350 using a drop in K&N filter. Did you clean the filter before installing it?

Sometime you need to clean the air filter and tune up. I average 25 mpg AFE Intake, invidia midepipe and Tanabe Axleback muffler.

Highly doubt a filter would make that much difference especially if it wasn't dirtydirty. The only way I see that happening is if it was so dirty it was almost clogged. Don't base all of that on just one trip. Also did u reset ur ecu by unplugging battery? That could also give you a difference in throttle feel because it resets ecu.
