New IS350 to me, weird question
Hey guys,
This is my first Lexus, and I love it but I have a weird question... Does Lexus put a really strong scent in their air filters or something? When I have the air blowing (A/C usually) it's throwing out a really strong smell, it's not a bad smell... but it's strong none-the-less. I can't decide what the smell is, if it's a bad smell or if it's like air cleaner smell... but it's strong!
Thanks guys

No, I've put both the Lexus and Wix cabin filters in my car, and neither of them has a noticeable smell. Perhaps your car had a mildew problem with the A/C, and the previous owner used something with a strong smell to try to de-odorize it...

Maybe that is the case. Either way I'll have to get rid of it because it's way too nauseating, kinda makes me dizzy it's so smelly. Thanks for reply, I'll look into the mildew potential, and buy a new air filter maybe.

Toyota makes an A/C refresher kit...in fact, I've still got mine sitting in the cabinet from Sewell Lexus.
I'd assume your local Toyota or Lexus dealership either has these on-hand, or can order them, or can do the service themselves for a fee.
By the way, if it is a mildew-type smell, I recommend using Damp-rid.
