Default First car - Lexus IS250 Silver

Hi everyone,

Just got my first car and it is a 2008 Lexus IS250. Anyone have any recommendations on beginner mods I can do? Also any good air intake mod out there that is affordable?

Welcome to the family. Affordable is an answer best left to the one asking the question. I think my intake was close to 300 or 350. But there are cheaper options out there. Just hit the google and youll find what you're looking for.

Welcome to Club Lexus.

Popular mods to start..

Red out amber patch on your tail lights with red vinyl (amber patch is disliked by many members) There are also LED tail lights available for your model that will improve the look of your car
Trunk spoiler, Roof spoiler (you can find these on ebay for less than $100 each usually)
Maybe some window tints? I see you live in sunny California
I would recommend an F sport intake but this is not the cheap option - as mentioned above google is your friend

How would blacking out my tail lights with a grey or black vinyl look with a silver paint? And I am looking into some spoilers and gonna get my windows tinted in a month or so.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Ok sweet. I'm planning on blacking out the tail lights and getting windows tinted as well as removing the lexus and is250 emblems and also blacking out the lexus symbol. And adding a silver trunk and roof spoiler. I will update pictures as I go along. Thanks for the help and welcoming me.

Depends which route you wanna go.. Personally I prefer black over carbon. If you get black/ carbon spoilers I might suggest vinyl wrapping your roof black or carbon as well.. whatever you do I would try to keep it all the same.. black spoilers, black emblems and maybe even a black roof.. or carbon spoilers with black emblems and a carbon roof.

Blacking out your grill is easily done with Plasti Dip as well.. If you are trying to black the car out.. You can peel it off or peel off whatever you'd like after its dried - 1 can is plenty

You look pretty happy.

Rear F-Sport sway bar is a must.

Just wondering but what does the sway bar provide for the car?

Reduces body roll during cornering and increases oversteer characteristics

Congrats on the new Lexus man and welcome! looking forward to see your new mods in the future. I'm still currently running a stock 2011 IS250 and wondering which (major) mods to go with myself. haha .. i hope you enjoy the new ride.

Yup!! I plasti dipped my whole grill and then peeled everything except the fins and the L background - very easy to do
