Are there and alternative seat options for the 2nd Gen ISx model? Can the IS F or 3rd Gen ISx seats fit into our cars and work with the wiring harness?

ISF seats will fit, I believe you will lose the ventilated seat option though. Take note that regardless of years, Lexus may have changed some of the connectors between the years, I wouldn't quote me on that though because they may have, they may not have..

As for the 3IS seats, connectors are completely different. A few people have tried, yet gave up.

Has anyone tried to improve the side bolsters? I have tan interior... I'm assuming if I had black seats it would be possible to replace just the up section of the seat with the F-Sport upper section at a significant cost.

I have a 08 IS350 with 115k miles. I've had it for 6 or so years. F Sport sway bars and chassis brace.

No one has gone to the trouble of modifying the actual amount of foam inside the 2IS seats AND had them reupholstered. Worth a shot though!

iirc, the last guy who gave up on the 3IS seats ended up just buying 2IS black leather and had the sides bolstered up 1/2" I believe.

^Really? I'd prefer the 3IS seats to the 2IS seats no matter where you added foam. I guess the first person to create a custom 2IS-to-3IS seat harness will sale a few. LOL!
