Default Repainting Lip

Got an aftermarket lip painted 062 Crystal White. First of all i know it is verrryyyy hard to match this 3 stage paint. Didn't match that well I think the guy used an incorrect base coat... Also, there must have been some sort of reaction with the PU lip cause it feels bubbly on either side in the same spots towards the end, but the middle is smooth which is weird. he tried to blame it on the PU material but my diffuser is also PU and the other shop matched it very well (theres reasons i cant go back which i wont get into now). he gave me. discount though when he saw I wasnt that pleased with it

my question is, if I want to get it repainted what would have to be done? strip all the paint and re prep it? can that be done on PU or is it how it is? im assuming itll be more expensive cause they have to strip the paint first if that's what they do... idk lol you guys probably know more than me

Thank you!!

Auto shop just has to sand it down nicely to remove the paint. After that they need to make sure they sand the PU well. This is because Pu is a PITA the paint on, unless you prepped it properly.

To be very honest, Yes our paint is difficult to match but not IMPOSSIBLE. The only IMPOSSIBLE one would be Glacier Frost Mica. My body shop was always able to paint match my CW so Its either your body shop does not know how to blend, does not know how to mix, does not know how to apply proper spray techniques or is not prepping right.

Hope this helps
