This won't allow air out when you select external air source. You still have another vent by the driver side, I wouldn't recommend closing this one though...

Yeah, I'd be careful about doing this. Those vents help provide ventilation for the car. Reduces moisture/condensation. Need to remember the trunk is usually cooler than the rest of the car, so that cold moist air is just sitting in there becoming mold over time if those vents are blocked.

Well my amp hair dryer fix only lasted a couple of weeks. It died again and the dryer trick no longer brought it back to life. I've ordered a used one on ebay from a 2008. FYI the 2011-2013 amps are a different design and the plugs won't fit. I believe it's only a matter of time before the replacement amp dies too.
