Default Exhaust Question: X or H pipe?

Installed a custom dual exhaust on my 2007 IS350. I used 2 1/4 inch tubing, two Sebring 8 inch resonators to two 17731 Dynomax mufflers with stainless dual wall tips. I left the cats alone. The tips resemble F-Sport tips exactly in size, shape and cut. All in all I'm pleased with the sound. I would classify the sound as louder than the F Sport exhaust with the stock resonator. A slight bit of drone at 1900 rpm but easily adjusted out by raising the rpm slightly. Sound is deeper and more body. System is cleanly installed with the mufflers tucked up with everything aligned and even. I had the shop install an H pipe about mid way because I did not have an X pipe. I"ll post pics later.

My question is will I notice much of a difference with an X pipe rather than the H pipe?

I'd like to think in general that the h-pipe makes a car sound better, but the x-pipe is better for performance and fuel economy.

^^This. I'd go with an x-pipe solely because of performance. An x pipe will add a little bit more high end power than an h pipe.

The X pipe adds very little more top end horsepower than the H pipe. But the H pipe adds more torque than the X pipe. Both are great for performance and fuel economy it all depends on what sound you prefer.

So what should I do if I want a deep sound + better fuel economy and don't care about loudness?
