Default What exactly are Demon Eyes on Headlights?

Hey guys, sorry for the noob question. I'm having custom work done to my headlights pretty soon and I wanna do as much as possible while I'm at the shop. Anyways my question, what exactly are Demon Eyes? I've seen them in person where they are basically red bulbs but do they do anything else? As in, do they change color and work as regular bulbs too or are they stuck red? I'm having my housings done black soon and thought the red bulb would look nice but not really sure on what a Demon eye truly is. Can you guys help me out and just explain to me in a nutshell what exactly they are and what are the pros and cons? It would be greatly appreciated!!

I think it's just an LED either in your housing or your bulb that works independently from your regular lights so it won't change the output while you're driving.
You can just turn it on and off while you're parked

Typically, 'demon eyes' are an adaptation of 'angel eyes' wherein the projector bulb inside the 'angel eye' emits a red spectrum light.

Pros: could potentially look decent on the right car

Cons: could potentially look terrible, most definitely don't provide much useable light, are probably illegal in most places, may or may not be shamed for putting angel eyes on 'something that isn't a BMW', etc.

If I were ever to do a mod such as this I would be sure that I had the option to change the colour as I see fit

There was a guy at our meet yesterday who makes custom headlights. He had a remote for his and could change the colors of them, and the halos. It was sick.

It's call the RGB demon eyes kit. Demon eye is an extra look for your headlight and work independent with your regular headlight. It won't effect anything to the light output of you driving light. I have it on my car and love it.
Of course it's illegal if you are driving around with demon eye on (I'm driving with it the whole time event when i was next to the cops)

So then your saying you can turn the demon eye off and your headlight goes back to its original color? In my case I'm running a 10k hid kit and was wondering if by getting a demon eye I would lose them? I wouldn't wanna have to have red bulbs 100% of the time.

Hers is my set up. Demon eye is wire up to parking light with replay in the middle
The DRL is always on
1 Click = Parking light on, Demon light on, LOW bean off
2 clicks = Parking still on, Low bean light on, but Demon eye off
IN my set up. The Demon Eyes and Low Bean won't ever on as same time which is keep demon eye stay for long time without loosing its coloring

IMO opinion, you really should not drive on the street with the demon eyes. It's illegal for a reason, red lights are supposed to indicate that you are looking at the back of a car, not the front.

Demon eyes are for looks and they come in a variety of colors, not just red. There's blue, green, RGB etc, but red seems to be the most popular.

They come in these little demon strip modules or even module demon halos. Just a little something extra for the headlights in terms of aesthetics, not intended for individual illumination purposes.

Are those even legal? In California. Since the lights are red.

What's the install process and difficulty level? I strongly suspect this project would require removing the front bumper, which is fine, but I've never had good luck resealing headlight lenses if that's what this would involve.

But if I were to attempt this, which Demon Eyes would y'all recommend? I see three different kinds:
(1) LED strips you presumably wrap around the projector lens or inside the housing
(2) LED clips that mount on the housing with screws
(3) LEDs with no mounting hardware at all
