Default Need help with Mark Levinson Audio System

Hi folks,

New member here. I live in NZ and 2/3 of our IS' are imported from Japan. Being the case, my IS250's infotainment system is in Japanese. Our non-ML audio systems however, do give you the ability to rip CDs to the HDD.

I don't mind the system in Japanese at all, because I dont need the NAV and most of the media and A/C controls are pretty straight-forward to use. My previous car (Infiniti G35 2008 250GT) was also a jap import and I easily figured out how to use all the media functions with no sweat. It has a far more superior infotainment setup than the IS.

I'm trying to rip CDs to the HDD. The CDs do have CD Text on them, and when I ripped them to my 250GT, I had two options, let GraceNote find the metadata for the music or use the CD text.
It worked perfectly, as I could chuck heaps of CDs on and browse them on the music library/HDD. The funny thing is when I put the same CD into my IS, it recognizes the CD text, which is a good sign. I can see the album name, track name, artist name etc. But as soon as I copy it over to my HDD, it renames it '2016-10-20' 'track 01'etc etc etc.

Here's my question: For those who do have the ML system, and do rip CDs to their HDD, have they managed to copy over the CD text metadata? Is there a function that I cannot find (due to mine being in Japanese) that will use the CD text?

I would appreciate any help you guys can offer.

Cheers
