Default Time for new tires ....

At 46k miles, the front tires on my 2011 IS 250 F Sport are about done. I don't want to go back to the stock Dunlop SP 2050's, due to the noise generated, and more specifically the cost of them when I think there are better tires available.
Also, I would rather not have a mixed brand on the car. The rear's are still pretty good since the left rear was replaced in the first year, and the right was replaced in the 3rd year of ownership due to unrepairable road hazard issues.

What tire brand did you switch too ?
How's the wear ?
How much tire noise are you experiencing ?

Got my car used and it didn't have the stock tires on it so I'm just going to chime in on my tire experience. 07 IS250 AWD that came with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Only had a summer or so worth of tread left but when it came time to order new tires I bought them again in a heart beat. Pretty relatively quiet for the amount of grip they have. Can't say much for the wear yet though. Perform like a dream but can be relatively expensive.

Switched to Michelin Pilot Super Sports. It wears pretty well for the amount of grip that it has. Noise is very minimal. Only downside is that they are quite pricey

I got lucky and got some PSS for 100 each, they were used, but didn't look that way. Only thing I was lucky with this year. The BFG Comp 2s are supposed to be great, they are made by Michelin. The Coopers look pretty good, I don't have never owned them though. Kumho Ecsta LX are a good price at Tire Rack, if you don't mind a touring tire, they look pretty great.

Evo v12, had em for about 3,000 miles and they still feel like the first day I got em. I get no noise from my tires they are really quiet. Only noise I get is the common dash rattle noise but that has nothing to do with the tires.

As others have mentioned, Michelin Pilot Super Sports are outstanding street tires with all-around excellent performance and tire wear.

On the flip side, I've noticed within the past few weeks that the prices for Continental ExtremeContact DW tires have dropped dramatically so you can easily save a few hundred dollars if you go with the DWs instead of PSS tires. Performance-wise, they're not as great as the PSS but unless you're really addicted to the twisties, the DWs will be more than adequate for your daily needs.

I put DWS 06's on my IS350, I love them. Really made a difference in how solid the car is, been taking long sweeping turns much faster than I used to, and they don't slide that well in the rain like my old Hancooks so no more drifties heh. DWS are also really quiet, but my old ones didn't give me a problem either so I don't know how special they are in the noise category, I highly recommend the DWS 06.

I'd recommend the A/S 3+'s as well. A bit noisy, but they'll last you a bit longer than the PSS.
