Default Replacing Front Lights

So I plan to look at a 2006 IS350 which has everything. I would imagine it also has HID. One problem is that the owner says the front lights don't work. I figured either the bulbs or the ballasts are bad, perhaps both. I was thinking of replacing them with new ones that have the 2011+ look. I was looking at ebay and saw a set. They mentioned to work with HID to disable the AFS. I also want to know if there are any that you would recommend?

Thank you

The ebay ones with the led stripe I heard kinda suck to be honest. And they don't look good to me. All depends on your budget. Your best best but most expensive is to get the oem 2011+ LED ones but those will run u $1500 and up. You can also looking for used but good condition oem hid ones or u can just get the ebay ones but again didn't hear good things about them. Light output sucks and they look very aftermarket.

I have found some used ones for 700. Is it more common for the balast to go out, or the bulbs. I don't know how he can drive a car without working lights I will see it on Saturday. There are some issues with the car, but also a decent amount of aftermarket parts. I will see if it is worth it.

I am running those headlights. For the price I am satisfied. I am also using a Morimoto HID kit. They are not OEM quality but they are good for aftermarket lights. If you are particular about subtle differences in quality I suggest going OEM over these.

I just bought the same one which is coming in tomorrow! I got DDM Tuning HID instead.

@Kmasyl did you ever change the H1 (High Beam) to LED?

Actually theythey loolook pretty good, better then I thought. So do these headlights come with hid projectors? Probably not since u still need an hid kit right? How is the cut off with the hid kit in this, how woukd this compare to just putting an hid kit in Stock oem halogen projector headlights? Better or worse?

I'm not entirely sure what makes a projector hid vs halogen but I can tell you the cutoff is fairly sharp. The light spread is nice and even too. If you look through the original thread about these there are instructions on removing a small deflector inside the projector. I wasn't able to get the projectors to line up entirely flat. I don't think there is a tilt adjustment. There are 3 adjuster screws, I'm able to adjust height and left to right but not tilt. The cut offs kind of "V" into each other. I don't think I am the only person with this problem. I drove a 3IS loaner and my headlights with the 50W 4500K Morimoto kit had much better output and a sharper cut off. I'll try and grab some more pictures of the tilt issue and light output.
