High(er) mileage IS350's burn oil, as does mine.
06 IS350, miles at purchase 158k, miles now at 172k, had all recalls performed, done absolutely nothing other than top off oil, change it per maint schedule with Royal Purple synthetic, and I drive like a grandma, and floor it from 0-60 maybe once every few weeks, its not even funny.
Same engine, same trans, no issues at all.

2006 IS350 - Original Owner - 210,000 miles. 90%-95% hwy miles since new. All recalls done, spark plugs done at 90K, Water pump replaced at 80K as a preventative measure while motor was out for oil leak repair ( covered under the Lexus extended warranty I had till 100k), gauge LED needles replaced, Front and rear brakes done at 120K and that's about it. Oil change done every 5k with mobile one full synthetic, and no other fluid have ever been changed. I need to do the spark plugs (they have over 120K on them, but runs smooth). I did notice while doing the oil change a small oil leak by the dip stick area dripping down on to the oil pan. The car has been awesome! I plan on holding on to it for another 2-3 year and should bring me to the 300k mark. Looking at getting the RC350 as my next vehicle.

Checking back in 157k miles. Rrally intense rainstorm last week, my vsc went on the fritz for the 45 minutes it took me to get home. Then my warning lights came on indicating a vsc failure. Turned it off and back on and all was well. I knew not to worry. It's also icy and snowy here in georgia this week. I was 11 miles fr9m home when the ice hit and I had to get home. 45° hills and all, bald right rear tire, and one very terrified driver this thing actually brought me all the way home without a hitch. Not worth mentioning I've been stuck in my driveway for two days. But this car has proven to be quite the soldier and I couldn't be more proud of the performance it put on in the snow.
