The only tricky part of taking the unit out is the vents. The video below explains the best (do be gentle with the dash though). After that, some of the videos you saw is probably pretty good at explaining it -- some suggest putting the shifter to neutral, but you don't really need to do that.

Default Air conditioner/ Radio non responsive

HELPPP!!!! With my 2006 Lexus Gs300! Hello My radio turns on but the screen says it's off and my air conditioner wont even work. The screen only shows ''Check air conditioning connection" none of the radio or heat buttons work either. The navigation works everything except the heat and radio.

I'm having similar issues.

This what it shows. Thank you for any suggestions.

I think I have the same issue. Were you ever able to fix that problem?

Yes! Mine turned out to be one of the plugs in the back that had a loose connection. I wedged something in with it to keep it in place. My car was a 2008 IS250 manual transmission so no back up camera. Somewhere on here I posted a picture of what connection it was & other details. If that’s not it & you try replacing the unit (used off eBay) you need to make sure it’s the correct display for your VIN. I tried one that was for my model but not my VIN (verify at Lexus parts department) & it worked but gave me an airbag issue alert.

I have a 2008 IS250 manual transmission and I have a backup camera (factory). I wasn't aware the camera was some kind of option if you've already opted for the NAV/Screen upgrade.

That’s what I meant. I didn’t have navagation or a screen. sorry, I had forgotten what else the screen was for. The first couple cars with the issue above also didn’t have navigation.

I want to warn you to replace your clutch before it completely wears out. If you wait for it to die on you it might crack the fly wheel & if that happens like it did on mine there is no aftermarket replacement. You have to order one from Europe for $2000 (that was the price in 2021). I searched far & wide for a used one with no luck either. I ended up scrapping my car because it would have cost more for me to get it fixed (unless you can repair it yourself) than it was worth. It was pristine other than the clutch/fly wheel (after I fixed the console connection problem). So sad.
