Clacking sound coming from passenger side dashboard area when making turns

Ok, this is driving me absolutely insane. Once things calm down and it stops raining I'll pull apart the glove box and door panel to see what's going on. But anyway, when I make a left or right turn there is a clacking sound that comes from the passenger side dashboard/door area. It is moderately loud and is not coming from outside of the car.
Imagine you had an empty glove box and put a large, heavy socket or marble in there and that thing is just rolling around during turns. That's exactly what it sounds like. I thought it was the passenger seat belt hitting the plastic pillar but it still does it even when it's buckled. And it makes the noise with a completely empty glove box.
About 5000 miles ago I replaced the air filter behind the glove box. I made 100% sure to replace it using the proper replacement procedure without damaging the filter door that raises and lowers. I even checked the door after filter replacement to ensure it was not broken and operated correctly. I've checked under the passenger seat and in the door storage bin for loose items and there's none. And I've even opened the passenger door hard, swinging it open and closed a few times and it's as quiet as can be. So I'm mostly sure the noise is coming from the dash area.
Oddly, when my wife rides with me she says it sounds like it's coming from the drivers side. But again nothing under the seats or in the door storage bin.
Has anyone come across this type of noise before from the passenger area? This car does have the normal rattles but this is a clack that only occurs during turns.
Thanks!
