Is it possible that the previous owner keep the lid opened and the sun doesn't shine on that part causing the rest to change color? It looks like the ashtray cover is also slightly different.

I thought the same thing. Maybe the sunlight caused the center wood to fade

Nope aaaannnd no. If there was sunlight beaming it, it wouldn't be this even, and the cup holder would be a touch faded as well. ALL the wood looks absolutely perfect and exactly matching except the shifter surround. It's definitely not correct. No way this is factory Lexus lol

I agree that it definitely isn't the sun. The lacquer has a UV coating so that wouldn't be affected by the light.. mine looks the exact same and I would assume they made produce the components so they will be mismatched here and there..

Looks like center piece got scratched/damaged and repaired with non tinted lacquer.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but since we're on mismatch wood grain, my IS 350 I purchased recently shift **** don't seem to match with my center console wood grain. I've look online and pictures from this forum but haven't seen any with wood grain. They all seem to come with chrome and black leather like yours. Since my IS 350 came with luxury package, maybe the wood grain shift **** might came with the package. Can anyone confirm if the wood grain shift **** is factory option or mine is a Lexus shift **** from another model, but the shape of the **** look exactly like the chrome which is all I've seen on our 2IS. Here is the picture of my shift ****.

No, the luxury package has black/chrome too. It looks like the former owner replaced your shift **** from one intended for an ES350. (loads of them for sale on eBay)

Thank you for the info. I guessed it's time to upgrade to the F-Sport shift ****.
