Has anyone tried swapping the 06-08 navigation console with vents to the refreshed look of 11's?

I would love to know if this can be done. I believe the 6th gen nav systems started in '10. They have Bluetooth audio and it doesn't seem like the screens have as many problems.

Same here, had screen blackout recently but was fix by reset via unplugging battery. In case it becomes permanent I would might as well replace with a refreshed navigation console

Can anyone answer this topic PLEASE, is it a plug and play type deal if I get 10-13 nav system for my 06 is350 nav unit(screen froze)

My 2009 has the updated look as well, just FYI.
I swear I read somewhere that the new ones have different plugs so it wouldn't be plug and play.

Will the 2010+ units fit in the 2006-2009 dash? If so the next step is finding a wiring diagram for each unit and tracing the wires as suggested above. Can anybody help with these questions?

I want to have 2010+ unit so bad, I love everything about it. Wires that scary me the most. If i knew someone with 2010+ model would already try to test it. :/

The problem other people had is not touchscreen problem so circuit pen writer won't work. Black screen problem causing by the second board in the top section.

I was wondering if the 2009 is interchangeable with 06-08 since it's still DVD based gen 5 navigation. 06-09 2IS are DVD base vs 10-13 are HDD base with the exception that Lexus update the interior in 09. What I'm thinking is if it's possible to swap 09 navigation console and vents to have a more modern look of 10-13 but still use DVD base navigation from 06-08. Since the 09 is like a hybrid where cosmetically look like 10-13 but internally still 06-08 DVD based navigation. I know this post is about swapping from DVD base to HDD which seem like a much more difficult mods. If anyone can confirm or have picture of the back of 09 navigation console would be awesome.
