Picked up a daily driver from a co-worker and have a few questions. The car has high mileage @ 207k but drives like one with under 100k. The previous owner purchased it as L certified with 55K miles and had it dealer serviced only, fortunately everything works and there are no strange noises, rattles or shakes. I don't see anything in the service history regarding rough idling or stalling that would indicate carbon buildup in the past. Is there a particular time frame this should occur in the lifespan of these 2.5L engines? Is a car with zero symptoms @ 200k out of the woods?
Fuel Injection in your gas tank once awhile, install oil catch can, premium gas only and just drive, don't you worry too much, seem like the previous owner service it well !
Thanks for the advice. I will be picking up some Seafoam and B12 this week. I've owned 4 other Lexus vehicles over the past 15 years and they age well. Although the car has the smaller 6 cylinder, the manual tranny makes it fun to drive. I do miss bluetooth but hopefully I can find a better solution than the audio jack to connect my iPhone.
