2008 is250 awd - p0031 - b1s1
OK, looking for info on this.. Cause I just did the job and it did not take care of the issue.
I found posts on here and elsewhere saying that B1S1 is the upper passenger side sensor. I even found
telling you what you needed to do to get access to it.
However, now that I have completed the install on the passenger side, I'm still getting P0031. Further research has shown that I can find conflicting reports that B1S1 is actually the driver side upper sensor.
Since there is so much involved with having to replace either side, I'm willing to leave the one I already replaced there and buy a new one. I just want to confirm that the one I replaced is not the right one, and just defective, before I buy another and then go through all the work of having to remove the intake manifold to get access to the driver side... Though it would give me a reason to also do the spark plugs and PCV Valve, since I'll already be in that area.

Replying to my own thread because no one else has and I think I have more info that tells me the that passenger side is actually bank 1.
Item 1: Someone posted the cylinder order here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ing-order.html which says odd cylinders are on the passenger side, which would mean bank 1 is there.
Item 2: I half assed a test, I pulled the battery to get access to the wire harness for the sensor I replaced and I disconnected it. I cleared the error codes and I then let the car run for about 10 mins. The CEL was on again after 10 mins, and the readout still says P0031 only. If the passenger side was bank 2, I should have gotten another error code in addition to P0031 indicating B2S1 was also failed.
So, looks like the sensor I got to replace the defective one is also defective? Unless there is another reason that P0031 would be getting reported.
