Sat Nav / Firmware ?
Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I recently purchased a 2006 Lexus IS220D
Had the DPF Deleted, EGR Blanked and remapped. She drives beautifully.
The Sat Nav Disc is the 2005/2006 version, very heavily outdated.
My question is this :
I've just ordered the latest E1E 2017 Maps Disc, and I've heard that when I insert the disc, it will also update the firmware - Does anybody know what this will update ?
I know one thing is that it will allow me to enter destinations on the move, can anybody give me the list ?
I just hope it has a night mode so I'm not blinded by the sat nav brightness in the dark for much longer

In the US, the only difference is that you won't need to press the "I agree" disclaimer every time the car is started. It does not allow entering destinations while driving, other than via voice command. I'm not sure about the European discs, but I wouldn't expect much change to look-and-feel or functionality; the updates are mostly to the maps and points-of-interest.
You probably have night mode even with your original disc. The trick is to turn your instrument panel dimmer down below maximum brightness. (you'll feel a click, and the nav display should revert to night mode if it's dark enough outside)

Thanks for the reply bud,
On the island here, most roads have no street lights so the sat nav brightness is really in your face.
I always turn brightness to max during the day, and then minimum at night time.
I tried the instrument panel light adjustment but this makes the button/gauge dimmer, not the screen
