Looking to buy 2008 IS 250
Hey everyone, I'm hoping I can get some help with this car as I'm new to Lexus but I LOVE the IS 250/350's. You're talking to a guy that's owned several Hondas before and I'm finally giving up my 2010 SI to move on to a Lexus.

Not sure how I feel about 162,300 kms but I know with Hondas it wouldnt b so bad, not sure how long Lexus tend to last but the CARPROOF report looks really clean and I feel like this might be a good buy. Is this worth checking out? or you think too many KMS? remember kms not miles.
Thanks, Matt

From the Autotrader page
"SAFTEY & CERTIFICATION -- This vehicle is being sold as-is unfit not e-tested and is not represented as being in road worthy condition, mechanically sound or maintained at any guaranteed
level of quality. The vehicle may not be fit for use as a means of transportation and may require substantial repairs at the purchaser’s expense. It may not be possible to register the vehicle to be driven in its current condition."
So what exactly does that mean? That makes my cringe. Why can't they say it's road worthy or mechanically sound. Also why would they say it may not be fit for use as a means of transportation etc. I would definitely factor into your cost a good check out by a good mechanic that knows Lexus.
Oh and stop listening to everyone that says get a 350. The 250 is a solid car and much more affordable than 350, but there is the carbon build-up issue that must be addressed and may very well have already been done to the car. I would get the VIN and go to the Lexus drivers site and see what has been done to it.
