Default 2006 IS350 transmission shifting problem

It's my friends vehicle, I'm trying to help her fix it. At first she noticed it wasn't shifting gears probably. It would slip going into gears. Then it would not go above 35mph. And now it will not move and sounds funny when started. I have yet to go investage the car myself . She said she allowed a friend to change the oil which was a HIGE mistake. That's when the car started to act up. She said he may have drained the transmission fluid by mistake and was afraid to tell her he messed something up... Maybe put oil in place of the transmission fluid or transmission fluid in where the oil goes... I have no idea. I am hoping to get help with this by someone who is and or may be familiar with this issue. The car was fine until this so called friend of her messed with it!

Tell her to not drive it at the moment. If that guy screwed something up , driving the car will just make it worse. Is the car throwing any codes?

If he did drain the tranny fluid by mistake and put new fluid back in there is a proper way to do it and the car needs to tell you when its at the proper temp to add fluid. Theres a procedure for it.

Friends don't let other friend's friends work on cars unless they know what they're doing! LOL!

Yeah, it's done!

Dont mess around. Cant fix it on a forum.
Get it taken to an Auto shop and get them to go over it.

dont DIY anything anymore, at this point.

if that is what you suspect, take it to a good auto shop. have them inspect it and tell them what you suspect. if needed, do a full flush of all fluids.

to me, it sounds like the wrong oil was used. probably the wrong viscosity and/or not enough oil.
