Exclamation Weird cigarette lighter + radio issue

I recently started using a dashcam that's powered via the cigarette lighter. Whenever I park my car and then turn off the engine, I unplug the power adapter from the cigarette lighter. However, when I do that, the radio/stereo inexplicably turns on. I thought maybe the cigarette lighter and radio are using the same fuse, but checked the manual, and they're not. Any ideas what's causing this?

Not really answering the question, but why do you unplug the poweradapter? There's no power going to cigarette lighter when car is turned off.

Force of habit, I suppose.

This is odd. When you turn off the car, there should be no power to the radio. I'm not sure how it can turned on. Did you get the car new? I think the car might had been modded with alarm or aftermarket stereo.

No, it was acquired used, from a friend. This is actually my folks' car, and they are in a different country from me hence why I can't troubleshoot it in person at the moment. I'll ask them if there's any aftermarket stereo mods, though I doubt it -- from what I recall, they had to replace the entire center GPS console/screen (with a used part in decent condition) maybe a year ago because the original one died. Perhaps the installer mis-wired something during the installation?

If there is some missed cable, then the unit won't be fully working. It's not about the cable error. First time ever i hear it
