Default Anyone wrap their intake in heat reflective tape?

I just installed my Joe Z intake today. The car sounds a lot better above 3750 RPM and the throttle response is ever so slightly improved. That being said the tube also got really warm while testing it out. I've seen people wrap their intakes in heat reflective materials (this is what I was eyeing;
Amazon Amazon
) and was curious if anyone here tried that and any results obtained. Thanks!

well, the air travels fast enough NOT to be effected by the heat of engine bay.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I ended up buying the tape and will put it on the intake. Hopefully it has some sort of effect on it,

The problem is I went out for a drive without even pushing the car at all and the tube was really warm. Probably hotter than the stock tube, and I imagine that this will probably reduce power because the air going through the tube is getting warmed up by the tube. So hopefully this will help out a bit.

I had mine for awhile it really soaked up heat in city driving. For highway trips when getting to my destination. I would open the hood up to check. It was barely warm to the touch. I have since sold it, and got an OEM F Sport sound generator intake. It comes stock on the F sport models. The IS350 seems to be a 3" ID vs the IS250 is 2.75".

Interesting. I'll try doing a longer highway trip and see if it fares better then. Thanks for telling me this!

I've thought about getting my Fujita intake tube ceramic coated inside and out. Currently, my aluminum tube gets blistering hot to the touch when out in the hot SC summer days.
