Default Window regulator dying?

Hey all, on my 2008 is250, sometimes whenever I roll my driver side window up, it decides to go back down. Could this be the window regulator? Or something else? Happens commonly, not everytime. Any help is appreciated.

The window should move freely in its groove but if it is getting held up for some reason then the safety system will 'see' this as an obstruction ( could be your head in the way) and backs up the window automatically. Check for debris or window /door frame being twisted or not true as this will impede the movement of the glass.

^^^^That first and if it's clear, could be the sensor in the motor that detects the obstruction in which case, you'll need some more expert help as to how it detects obstructions.

Probably detects an obstruction by increased load on the motor which then draws more current, so detection is done electronically and probably internally in the motor. This is a proven ( no additional moving parts) system and a number of small obstructions in the window mech system can all add up to trigger level, but equally things do fail so it could be motor assembly.if you can try and swap out with a good motor from another door, pita to do but will prove faulty part before purchasing.

Yeah I tried putting my hand on top of the glass and it went up, no going back down. Thanks for the help. I'll try seeing if replacing it helps, but that'll be in the future since it's not constantly going back down currently.
