Default Help Steering wheel not straight but drive straight

Hi All

My car's steering wheel is slightly off center since i taken it off to wrap my steering wheel. I had the alignment done (prior to taken my steering wheel off) and it drives straight at steering angle of 1155 position, instead of normal 1200 position. As soon i put it to 1200 position it veers toward right slightly. I noticed there is slightly more resistance to correct the steering to 1200 than leaving it at 1155. I thought it might be to do i didn't put the steering wheel straight when i put it back. Does anyone know what i can do to to get it straight at 1200 position again?

The only way is to get it realigned.

If it only happened after you took the steering wheel off, then it wasn't re-installed correctly. You can correct it either by removing the steering wheel again and re-installing it stratight or by realigning the front wheels. I would do the former.

All solved! Now its straight.

I went back and had a closer look at the picture i taken before i taken off steer wheel few weeks ago from under airbag (thank goodness i took the photo). I saw there is a very tiny marking at the edge of stub spline and its in aline with the blue paint strip on the bottom of the steering wheel it self. What i did was i took out my steering wheel and realigned the tiny mark on the stub spline in aline with the blue stripe marking on the steering wheel. Now it drives straight as it was before! I couldn't believe lexus made the oem marking to ensure people line up with their steering correctly!

If the rear thrust angle is off (rear toe), the front wheel angle will be off. Start with tire pressure, tire inspection, swap tires front to rear and look for change. If no change, head in for 4 wheel alignment.
