ISF Cluster Conversion Help
I came across an ISF Speedometer cluster, thought it would be a nice upgrade, and since i got it cheap. i went ahead for it... Upon installation, its plug in play.. pretty much, however i notice a few difference / issues
expected issues:
1. oil temperature light flashes. (looking for a way to delete or emulate normal reading)
unexpected issues:
1. No gear position indicator when in "S" mode.... the isf cluster will switch over to "M" mode with the "F" logo on the top screen, but will stay on "M1" on the gear screen... no matter what gear you shift up to, it will stay M1, so if you are using your paddles, you will not know what gear limit you are on.
2. RPM reading is off... with my OBD scanner plugged in, the ISF RPM reads around 500-1000 RPM over actual (OBD Scanner)...
has anyone ever come across these problems and has anyone attempted to fix it? I had the cluster installed, took it for a test drive, and removed it right after noticing the unexpected issues.. I use my paddles pretty often, so i would prefer to know what gear i am in. Also wanted to find a way to correct the RPM reading.

It seems you have two extra cylinders to account for on the CAN bus. And if I'm not mistaken, extra gears too. As for oil temp your ECU is missing this output which I assume but don't know is it all on the CAN? Do you have Techstream available?
Do so reading on can bus. At a glance it seems you need to redirect the path from that bus into a black box that can extract the the tech signal (speed too?), and gear changing, do some logic on it and send that back to the gauge set.
Can you open the the gauge and take some high resolution pictures of the circuit board and the IC's and there may be a slim chance that it could be addressed there but you need the schematic for both gauge clusters...
