2006 Lexus IS250 [engine cranking slowly]
Hi my keyfob battery is dying. can that cause my car to drag upon starting. it seems as if i have a dead car battery but its a new car battery. once i get the car started it starts right up again. but sitting for a while it does the same thing again. i just replace all the batteries in my main keyfob and spare and it is now cranking liek nothing is wrong

To know exactly what is causing hard starts is to test the battery and the alternator. I don't think the FOB will determine how hard your motor cranks when trying t start it. It just either engages or disengages the anti-theft system.
Although it is a new car battery there is always the possibility it could be defective. It happens. But what I think might be your problem is that your alternator might not be charging the battery when the vehicle is running or you have a parasitic drain in your electrical system somewhere wearing down the battery while the vehicle is off. Also, check the connections to the battery to make sure they are tight.
Start with testing your alternator and battery. You just need a volt meter, it's very simple and there are many youtube videos to guide you.

No, the key fob battery has nothing to do with whether the starter cranks the engine slowly or normally. If the problem continues, I'd have an auto parts shop test both your battery and alternator. Also make sure the battery terminals are free from corrosion and tight.
