Default 2011 IS250 ABS, Traction Control, and Brake Light

Hello, new to forum. Just bought 2011 IS 250 for my daughter and recently the ABS, Traction control and Brake light is coming on periodically while driving.
Most of the time she says it's while trying to merge onto the highway. She said it feels like the brakes are grabbing and the car is loosing acceleration. I have
been doing a little research and started with the most obvious of filling the fluid in the reservoir. The light went off for a day or two but now has come back on.
Checked the reservoir and the fluid if still full. Would you all think that the system has to be reset by disconnecting the battery or is there a more serious underlying
problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try to take care of this myself before resorting to a certified mechanic. Thanks.....

Sounds like something connected to serpentine belt is going: alternator, water pump, ac compressor. When she merges, I suspect the RPM's are getting up there and it may be a bearing starts chattering at the higher RPM's. Maybe have her give it some revving with the hood open and see if you notice anything start sounding weird.

If not something in the engine, maybe something is loose in the a caliper, a bad or loose shoe that get's bound, but I'm not sure how that would make the brake lights come on.

Could be a faulty ABS sensor on one of the four hub bearings.

You sure it doesnt have a CEL on? Comfirm with your own eyes and driving brake light vs CEL as enter the highway and loosing power sound like misfire events.

Scan the ECU for stored DTC errors too. It will tell you if codes are pending....

Could be a transmission solenoid but you'd have to have a shop (not autozone) scan the codes or if you have a techstream cable you can scan those codes yourself. Mine did something similar and it was the torque converter lockup solenoid. It drove fine most of the time, the lights would come on and off, but on the interstate it felt weird, it didn't unlock the torque converter when I'd lightly hit the gas and took more throttle to get it to downshift and go. I bought an oem solenoid for $75 on eBay, shipped from Japan and once I installed it I was good to go.

Mainly you nerd to find what codes it's throwing, and if it's a transmission code you'll have to get a shop to read it.
