Center console lighting question
For those of you with the ventilated seats - do the dials light up when the driving lights are turned on? This is for a 2008 MY. We recently had the "sticky" dash replacement done and for some reason my wife thought those dials, in particular the numbers on them, lit up. I can't remember one way or another, there is a green/red light that shows up when we turn it one way or the other but that's it; no indicator of how far the dial is turned (1 through 3).

On my 2008 220D they do light up, but they didn't use to (i managed to break the lighter in the ashtray, i somehow managed to eject it with wires and all when pulling a FM transmitter out of it and after that the light on the dials for the ventilated/heated seats work). Maybe yours is not working just because of some wiring in that area, like mine. I must say i'd rather have the lights for those on than the lighter (which i rarely use), but i will get both of them fixed in the next weeks, in my opinion should not be a major deal.

Thanks for the responses! Something else I noticed, or maybe I’m looking for too many things now, but do the mirror controls light up on the driver side door panel when then headlights are turned on?

True, as do the window switches on the passenger and rear doors. One cool feature I observed is that if you push the button on the driver door to disable the window switches on the other doors, the lights on the disabled switches go out too.

^^^ Thanks for the pic.
I guess I need to make another visit to the dealer... I have also noticed that the nav calibration seems messed up; I've re-calibrated it about 2-3 times in the past 1.5 weeks.

You shouldn't need to recalibrate it ever. Under the map scale indicator in the upper left corner of the screen, it should show the word "GPS" as soon as it gets a lock on the satellites. My guess is that you won't see it on yours ever, likely because they didn't plug in the GPS antenna when replacing your dash.
