Default Passenger windows won't open after battery unhooked.

Hi there,

I replaced one of my HID bulbs on the weekend and disconnected the battery before starting. The bulb works and the car electronics seemed fine except for the three passenger windows. The driver window goes up and down without issue. The remaining three will not go down from the driver seat buttons or the doors themselves.

This seems like it may be a programming issue? Not how to to resolve this. Pull the fuse for the windows? I played with the window override button but that didn't do anything. Everything else in the car works fine so I can't see the battery being disconnected for 10 minutes doing anything to fry the motors.

Let me know your thoughts if anyone else has been through this.

I may have found the answer.

It is funny how I can find answers through Google but the search on this forum comes up with nothing.

Yep that worked. Go to each door and cycle the windows up and down a few times and then the driver door button will work.

Funny because I did try each door right after connecting the battery and the buttons didn't do anything. Anyways, problem solved!

That's a very common question, which is why it's right in the FAQ post stickied to the top of this forum. It's also the first item that comes up when I pull down "Search this forum" and type "passenger windows won't roll up". I'm not sure why your search wasn't successful.

You don't need to cycle the windows up and down. Roll each window down and keep holding the window button for a second after it stops. This is on each door. That's it.
