I'd spray it down whenever you change the air filter, but that's just me. Usually you don't need to change an air filter for at least 15k miles depending on your climate of course (dust). You usually do not ever need to do a reset, just a clean and drive.

I used to have 2003 Toyota MR2. Every time we clean the MAF sensor. We have to disconnect the battery cable for about 1 minute. After that the ECu will relearn again.
I wonder if the IS2 should have the same procedure.

I've disconnected the battery once for an ECU relearn after cleaning it, every time since I've cleaned it and drove. Really no need to do a reset unless you're running some sort of oiled filter (e.g. K&N) and the MAF is absolutely coated in filter oil.
