Default Rear spats/apron installation.

Does anyone have the rear spats on their car? If so, how did you go about installing it? I'm looking at the photo below and it looks like I will need to take off my rear bumper to install. Is it possible to install without bumper removal? Any tips or advice for easy install? I don't want to drill into my rear tom's lip.

That aluminum piece there is not included with mine . I still haven’t mounted mine since my exhaust canisters are too close to the sides now. I’m going to have to cut them a little bit to fit. I’m planning on adding the GFX rear so I am waiting for that than I will put these on. I made a cardboard template to see just how much that I needed to cut. That front bolt is there though.

Mine came with all the hardware...screws, washers, and brackets. I just found your old post about installation. Looks like there needs to be a lot of dremeling to get it to fit and not hit the muffler. I have an Fsport exhaust so I guess I'll need to do some cutting. The ebay posting said guaranteed fit lol. I'll try one more time to test fit and see if I can do it without cutting.

Keep me posted on your install.

Did you buy reps? Or genuine AIT? I have the genuine AIT side skirts but bought the replica rears.

I have the rep CF rears and rep PU sides. I should've just been patient and got authentic CF sides. The PU is pretty flimsy. I test fitted it and couldn't even keep it straight in cool temp. I have the AIT front lip in PU and its okay.

So I did what you did on your other post and used a cardboard cut out to do a mock up. I ended up cutting almost half of the spat lol. I think the main piece that needed to be trimmed was the raised portion as that kept hitting my Tom's lip which prevented it from sitting flush.

I decided to cut the spat to where the edge of my lip was so I could use binder clips to hold it on for test fitment. You don't need to cut as much as I did. I don't think I will be drilling a hole through my lip so I'm looking into 3m tape and only drilling the spat to the plastic part where the tire is. Let me know how you decide to do yours.

Looking good , I just ordered my GFX rear rep . So it will be a little bit before I get them mounted. Let me know how you like having them with the tape. I’ll probably screw them on with tape to help. I’m glad the template helped out some. Lastly , did you use a cut off wheel to trim them?

I just used a dremel tool. It wasn't hard to trim at all. I might use a heat gun to try to bend the the spats just a tad to conform perfectly with the lip as there is slight gap towards the end since I cut of the raised section.
