Default oil filter housing

installed new cap, leak must be in housing. whats the parts # for the housing?

did you install the rubber o-ring that goes around the housing near the threads?

Agreed. Sounds like you didn't throw the O-ring on the cap. If the housing is cracked, someone must have seriously over-tightened the cap.

yes, I installed the new gasket (o ring).

Did you put the o ring in the right place ( in the groove) recheck it.

Is yours AWD or RWD? On the RWD, the filter fits into the oil pan and the cap goes on top of that, on the AWD there is a separate housing. Where exactly is it leaking from?

When I went to ask about replacing my oil filter housing due to a stripped cap bolt, on my invoice was: 15620-31050 CAP ASSY, 15643-31050 PLUG, 96723-35028 GASKET. Not sure if all IS250s are the same but that's for my 07 AWD anyways
