No. Relay as in standard automotive relay used for the last 50 years. The $5 ones with 85, 86, 30, 87 pins.

if you don’t know what that it’s, might be a good time to pay someone to do it.

If I get the OEM led referenced relay

81980-06020

Will it allow me to just add 4 led 7740 to my stock halogens, and not have a hyper flash?

Eh, I like to learn so I'll give it shot. Just trying to make sure I have everything I need to do it correctly. 👍

Thanks for the info!

I just bought a replacement aftermarket LED turn signal relay for like $10 on Amazon. Its same for most Toyota vehicles. The replacement OEM 2011+ is still designed for incandescent signal but for single front instead of the dual bulbs per HL on the 2006-2010.

You will need some inline fuses for the battery power. An “add-a-fuse” to connect to fused box power.

I’ve used ordered these before. Same price as some single pieces so might as well order a pack.

I'll do a retrofit after all. The output on these lights is very bad -- it's not that it's not bright, but it's very spotty with weird patterns.

I'm getting the same parts as you and will only replace the projector and no DRL mod. I'm planning to pay someone to do it. You or anyone have a guess on how much time this takes?

Is it possible to mod the OEM halogen projectors to fit as well (with some mod)? I tried the LED bulbs in the OEM projectors and they're actually pretty good -- same as OEM light pattern, but brighter and white.

Read this whole thread you guys are amazing with the time and effort. I want to keep it simple I have a 2010 is250 and want to add a led strip headlights with the strip always on. I have orderd the oe depo lights already. It's my understanding I can unpin one green wire from the headlights and run that to acc and have led strip always on. Is this correct? Or do I also need to add relay and fuse to that wire because that's where I get lost. Lastly there are some h11b hid kits on Amazon can I use this kit and insert whole kit into the housing of the depo lights without any modifications? Thank you again. Sinister you have motivated me to do the bumper swap at same time ty for the yt videos!

If the ballast is less than the size of the cover hole, 3.5" x 2.25", it will probably fit. I would caution using either HID or LED unless you think the beam pattern is good. The bright white light will amplify the weird spots and patterns. I like it simple too, but if you're they type that "notice things", it will be distracting.

If you successfully de-pin the pins, can you post how you do it? I look at it and doesn't seem to be any easy way to de-pin.

I'm not to worried about the beam output Im mostly sitting in LA traffic day and night. If I can depin I will post pictures if not I can cut and splice the wires I believe. I will update everyone on my simplified process.

depin is easy on the harness but I think the DRL are tapped into the parking light pin. May need to separate. I recommend a relay to battery power but the out of the box DRL is equivalent to OEM DRL at half output. I used the EFI2 or the IGN fuse in the driver side engine fuse box. Used an Add A Fuse from Amazon to tap the relay signal.

Also not sure of the quality as a few guys on here killed their LEDs, I ran them for about 2 months with no issues til I did my custom board and Cree LEDs.

If if you are going to do HID, recommend the H11 it from Xenon Depot, their bulbs are perfect alignment and ballast are best on market. They use Hylux ballast but with improved circuitry. $155 plus they always have at least 10% off or better.

Another HID option if you want fit is to cut the hole for ballast like I did and buy a set of aftermarket OE ballasts. You’ll have to convert to amp connectors and buy bulbs separately.

Very detailed thread but does anyone have long term input on the HID Depo's selling for $995+? On the fence about them, or simply getting the ones for $450 and upgrading to HID bulbs. I know the cutoff won't be the same and it's the cheap way, but have read very little on the HID Depo's. Some halogen Depo owners have reported failing LED's and bubbling of black paint..
